The requirements on how companies and organisations can send emails have been tightened considerably during the year and now apply to both large and small businesses.
Google (Gmail) already blocks emails from senders who do not fulfil the SPF, DKIM and DMARC requirements.
Apple and Yahoo are already very restrictive, and the trend is clearly towards the same requirements for other major email providers.
It can lead to:
- emails that do not reach the recipient
- increased risk of someone pretending to send emails in your name
- difficulties in meeting NIS2 requirements, GDPR and cyber insurance
This is proven technology that all organisations sending emails will soon be expected to have in place and is not something that happens automatically but requires proper configuration and follow-up.
