Rely IT has, on behalf of the Swedish Transport Administration’s Ferry Division, developed a digital communication platform that collects and distributes real-time traffic information to both passengers and staff. A digital platform with multiple information channels
The new solution comprises a passenger app, a staff app, a modernised administration tool and a central database with a REST API. Passengers have access to timetables, real-time traffic information, notifications of service disruptions and support for on-demand services directly on their mobile phones. At the same time, staff are provided with a simple tool for managing and confirming on-call duties, ensuring that up-to-date information is published quickly and automatically across all information channels.
Automated text message alerts also ensure that important travel information reaches passengers quickly and reliably.

By bringing all transport information together on a single platform, administration has become considerably simpler. Timetables and transport information can be updated centrally and distributed automatically to the app, the website and other systems. Furthermore, the digital management of on-call services has reduced the need for manual telephone calls and created a smoother workflow for staff.
