Challenge
Region Stockholm (SL) was facing a new tender for portable ticketing equipment (BBU) following the expiry of the previous contract. The existing solution consisted of two separate devices for ticket validation: one for payment cards and one for SL cards. This presented an opportunity to introduce a modern, user-friendly, easy-to-use and certified device that simplifies handling and improves the user experience. In addition to hardware, SL needed someone who could develop a payment application in accordance with PCI and integrate it with the existing ticketing system. Rely IT won this tender and solved their challenge.

Outcome
Stockholm Region and transport operators are moving from two devices to one, which in turn leads to faster validations and greater satisfaction among customers and transport operators. Rely IT developed a payment application that meets PCI requirements and is closely integrated with the Region’s own systems. The new handheld device validates the various types of cards and tickets faster than before, and the user experience has been improved.
